Part of the Nottingham Munzopoly series. I hope that you enjoy the hunt and find some interesting places in this historic and vibrant City.
History
The site of the Nottingham Gallows is the junction of Mansfield Road and Forest Road, probably where the church of St. Andrews now stands. This is the highest part of Mansfield Road and offered the ghoulish onlookers a view of the public hangings that took place here. The houses adjacent to the Gallows would also rent out their rooms in order that people could get a better view!
But this area was also the location for Sand Mines, and it is believed that mining took place here as early as 1335. It is therefore surprising that the large graveyard and cemetery is known as Rock Cemetery. If you are of a mind, a walk around the cemetery will show the sandy outcrops and some of the caves.
I have tried to make the deployments 'finder friendly' but not obvious to non-players. If you do remove a card to scan then please replace as found. Please contact me with any problems regarding scanning/deployment.
Hint : 20/09/11 Now moved to easier location
Holy entrance - notice the ledge
