A small memorial dedicated to the lives lost in Australia's worst railway crossing accident. On the 8th May 1943, a bus carrying 28 servicemen and 5 servicewomen collided with a steam train. As a result, 23 of the servicemen, 1 servicewomen and the civilian bus driver were killed. The memorial was erected in 1993 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the tragedy.
