David Bayne was the original Chief Economist for the Development Corporation. Originally from England he was committed to producing a unique world class city and was responsible for ensuring that it was soundly financed. Mr Bayne was one of
the first to settle in the new Huon Creek Road Subdivision. The entire Bayne family immersed themselves in the community, particularly in the cultural and artistic life of the city which lead to the eventual formation of the Flying Fruit Fly Circus and the Hot House Theatre. Mr Bayne ensured that the funding to make Willow Park an area of world class significance was made available.
