Coffin Walk - Breaston to Church Wilne
Originally at St Michael’s Church in Breaston, dating from the early 13th century, only mass was said in the church, and all weddings, baptisms and funerals had to take place at St Chad’s, Wilne, to the south.
Coffins were taken across the fields to Wilne and the route became known as the “Coffin Walk”.
If you're lucky you'll see the goats and horses in the yard nearby
Hint: Stile, Yellow, tucked
