1906. The Presidential Whopper. William Howard Taft was a big (emphasis on big) fan of breakfast. On a visit to Savannah, FA, in 1906, the 350 pound president broke his fast one morning by eating shrimp with hominy, potted porridge, broiled venison, waffles with maple syrup, hot rolls, and a grapefruit.
